Akai Introduce Portable MPC Key 37

Akai Introduce Portable MPC Key 37

Akai just released the MPC Key 37 - a standalone synth and keyboard.  It's Akai's first standalone synth and keyboard since the 61.  With 37 keys it's much lighter and more portable.

Here'a rundown of the features:

  • MPC Key 37 is a standalone MPC desktop synthesizer with onboard sampling, plugin instruments, insert effects, and Splice integration.
  • It has a three-octave full-size keybed for playing chords and melodies with aftertouch-enabled keys and controls for pitch bend and modulation.
  • It features 4 assignable Q-Link knobs for precise control of levels and parameters.
  • It has a robust processing core for sampling and sequencing and a 7-inch touch screen for chopping loops and samples.
  • It has velocity-sensitive RGB pads in a 4x4 grid for beatmaking and sampling.
  • It has diverse I/O like MIDI, CV/gate outputs, and USB ports to connect with external synths and studio gear.
  • It is Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled for wireless syncing with devices and DAWs using Ableton Link.
  • It supports MPC Stems for isolating, splitting, blending and mixing parts of samples.
  • It includes MPC plugins with rich synth and acoustic instrument sounds.
  • It can sync Splice sample collections and is compatible with the MPC2 software.
